Mrs. Verdonda Wright was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She earned her Bachelor's degree at Norfolk State University and earned her MEd from Averett University. She has been teaching for nineteen years and says that it is "the best job she ever had" and that she "loves it." Before she taught at Phoebus High School, she worked at Davis and Lafayette-Winona Middle School in Norfolk. She is a co-author of a book titled, "Young Woman's Guide to Success." Her hobbies include cooking, decorating her house, reading, and writing.
Mrs. Wright has been married for twenty-nine years, has three children, all adults, and two grandchildren. Her husband is a middle school teacher; and one of her daughters is a high school math teacher. Her other daughter is taking college courses for an English Education major, and her son is pursuing a major in Marketing Education.
