Phoebus Students Named
"Volunteers of the Year!"

Amelia Bane and Emily Morgan were named the school's "Volunteers of the Year" in the 2008 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program.

They both received certificates of Merit for their volunteer work. This award is sponsored by Prudential and the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the awards recognize the outstanding community service by young Americans.

Amelia was honored for her work with Uth Act, mission work with the Hampton Baptist Church, and her involvement in drama programs.

Emily was honored for her work with the Virginia Living Museum, an Appalachian service project and various band programs.
