Health & Physical Education Courses

Required to Graduate:

1 credit in Health and
1 credit in Physical Education

HEALTH EDUCATION (Grade 9)

  • First Aid, Personal Health, Disease Prevention, Environmental Health, Wellness, Nutrition
  • Family Life Education

HEALTH EDUCATION (Grade 10)

  • Driver Education
  • Driver Education laboratory phase is available after school (registration is handled at the Health and Physical Education Office located at 1 Franklin Street) Applications may be secured from the school guidance department or the Physical Education Department
  • Mental Health, Child Abuse, Suicide Prevention, Consumer Heath, Nutrition
  • Family Life Education

PHYSICAL EDUCATION (Grade 9)

  • A variety of physical activities designed to encourage and prepare students to be active for life
  • Encourage students to become proficient in individual sports that will become lifetime activities
  • To develop personal fitness programs

PHYSICAL EDUCATION (Grade 10)

  • A variety of physical activities designed to promote lifetime activity
  • To encourage students to become proficient in at least 2 sports that will become lifetime activities
  • To develop personal fitness programs

Physical Education Elective Courses

GRADES 11 - 12

  • Students must complete the required ninth and tenth grade health and physical education courses prior to enrolling in an advance class
  • Offerings include Weight Training, Personal Fitness, Advance Individual Sports, Team Sports

GRADES 11 AND 12

  • Advanced Health Education-Fundamental Sports Injury
