Tom Dunn (Georgia Tech Research Institute)
Mr. Dunn is a Georgia Tech faculty member serving in a Research Engineer role with the Georgia Tech Research Institute. He has over 15 years experience specializing in Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), Knowledge Management, E-government solutions and System Administration. In addition he taught C+ + as an adjunct faculty member at Christopher Newport University (CNU). He received his Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology in 1989, and a Masters of Science in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University in 1995.
Ken Wright (General Electric)

Phuong Hoang (Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding)
Graduated from Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in 2001. Graduated from University of New Orleans with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2005. Worked with SAIC in Panama City up until 2007. Specialized in remote mine hunting vehicle testing and implementation onto Littoral Combat Ship. Currently employed by Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding. His scope of work includes designing and implementing all-electric boat davits systems throughout the Gerald Ford aircraft carrier.
Jonathan M. Sherman (Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding)
He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and graduated in May 2006. His first year out of school was spent developing military submersibles at Northrop Grumman Undersea Systems in Annapolis, MD. In September of 2007, he moved to Norfolk and began working at the Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA. Currently, he is part of the Auxiliary Technology Machinery group for CVN 78, the new Gerald Ford aircraft carrier. This group is responsible for the design and implementation of equipment such as the aircraft elevators, weapons elevators, catapults, arresting gear and plasma arc waste disposal.

Kevin Bond – Northrop Grumman Newport News Apprentice School
Currently Mr. Bond oversees 20 apprentices in our Electrical Maintenance program and 4 in our Welding Equipment Repair program ensuring the quality of their training. He also handles the documentation of 5 other programs with at total of about 100 apprentices. Past experiences include managing an electrical maintenance apprentice crew, worked in both submarine and aircraft carrier design, and as an electrician onboard an aircraft carrier. His first job at NGNN was as an Electrical Maintenance Apprentice. He graduated from Longwood University with a degree in Physics.

Tim Duenas – Lockheed Martin
Mr. Duenas is a systems engineer. He designs software for an aircraft control system. He develops algorithms and software requirements that are then used by software developers to implement in computer language. He then evaluates the software to ensure it is compliant with the requirements and algorithms he developed. Mr. Duenas received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University. Prior to this he was a US Navy Electronics Technician from 1995-2001.
Tom Dunn - Lockheed Martin
Mr. Dunn is currently a Systems Engineer working on software for the DDG 1000 class of ships. He has over 15 years experience of professional software development specializing in distributed processing; web-based, E-government solutions; UNIX system administration; object oriented analysis and design. In addition he acted as adjunct faculty member of Christopher Newport University's Physics, Computer Science and Engineering (PCSE) department teaching C++. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology in 1989, and a Masters of Science in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University in 1995.

Lei Lani Lucero – Craft Engineering Associates
Ms. Lucero is a mechanical engineer and Engineering Manager. She is a senior at Old Dominion University studying Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management. Craft Engineering Associates designs robots for industrial and military uses.
Chaun Miller - Parent
Mr. Miller is a parent of one of the Team 2028 students. He works as a construction superintendent at a construction company in the Williamsburg area. He helped students with his great knowledge of tools, fabrication methods, and overall construction during building the robot and modifications made at the VCU competition.
Youth Career Cafe
The Youth Career Café is a youth development, job readiness, career exploration, skills training, and college exploration program for young people ages 14-21. It is a part of the Peninsula Council for Workforce Development in Hampton, Virginia.
