MISSION STATEMENT

Students will have opportunities to participate in "simulated" elections (ie. National Parent-Student Mock Election) and Congressional activities sponsored by the YMCA.
2006-2007 CLUB OFFICERS
The club is now in the process of recruiting members.
CLUB EVENTS
The culminating activity is the participation in the Virginia YMCA 2007 Model General Assembly that will convene in Richmond, Virginia in the spring of this school year. This General Assembly program is designed to introduce secondary school students to Virginia's legislative process.
ABOUT THE CLUB
Each spring hundreds of young Virginians converge upon the state Capitol to experience firsthand the conditions and procedures under which elected officials work. Students assume roles as Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney and House Speaker, Pages, Senators, Representatives, and Lobbyists, etc. Since 1984, more than 30,000 students have participated in the program.
