Mr. Couillard is a proud member of our Science Department where he teaches AP Environmental Science and Oceanography. As a career-switcher he brings an exciting perspective and outlook into education forum. Coach Couillard previously worked as a horticulturist and landscape manager for a large design and build firm.
Born in Massachusetts and growing up in New Jersey has lead itself to experiencing many situations that enables him to perform as a teacher/coach. After attending Westfield State College where he earned dual Bachelor's of Science degrees in Environmental Science and the
second in Geography and Regional Planning, shows his versatility and ability to adapt well to situation both on and off the field. While attending Westfield he played and integral role as catcher/captain for baseball team.
Coach Couillard is happily married to Kathleen Couillard, who is a Gifted Resource Specialist in the Virginia Beach School system. The Couillard Family boast two talented young children, Tyler and Michael Couillard. Tyler who is turning 4 years old in September enjoys playing baseball and hanging out with the guys and hopes to be part of the team someday.
Also his little brother Mikey who will be two in July also is a prospect for playing baseball someday.
Coach Couillard's hobbies include; landscape design and construction, traveling, hanging with the family and any competitive sports. He plays golf and hopes one day to learn how to ski. To round out Coach Couillard's visions he would also like to become fluent in Spanish and become highly proficient in Calculus but most importantly is excited to bring home a
championship to Phoebus High.
